Resilience Habits You Need Now

Hi,

I've been talking a lot about resilience and taking personal responsibility for our health and wellness this month.

Today, I am going to get REAL on the mindset, habits, and actions you can take to become more resilient.

One thing I reallly like about these habits is that they just plain FEEL good - and when you stack them together, you feel unstoppable.

 

8 Real-Life Habits To Become More Resilient

  • Practice mindfulness. Examples include meditation and deep breathing. Start with just 1 to 2 minutes and build up to 10 to practice once or twice a day.
  • Create "down" time. Examples are making time for activities that help you relax, such as hobbies, reading, playing music, gardening, even going for a walk,
  • Get fitter. What I mean here is getting regular exercise routine, as it helps lower stress, boosts your mood, and raises self-esteem.
  • Eat nutritious foods. It is about feeding your body what it needs - whole, nutrient-rich foods and limiting processed, sugary, and 'junk' foods.
  • Sleep. When you are rested, you are better able to handle everyday stress.
  • Build social connections. Connecting with others can help you feel supported and less alone.
  • Practice positive self-talk. This helps you shift your focus to what's possible in your life, instead of dwelling on the obstacles that may be in your way.
  • Make time for reflection. Reviewing your progress, what you have done, and accomplishments will give you firsthand evidence of your strength and determination.
